Scottish Lighthouses

Scotland is well known for its lighthouses most of which were built by members of the famous Stevenson family of lighthouse engineers. This glorious book tours 31 of the most beautiful of the lights on Scotland's shores and islands. Written by Sharma Krauskopf who lives in the accommodations at Eshaness, one of the Scottish lighthouses in Shetland Islands, the text is insightful. Talking not only about the buildings and their history but their surrounding area she gives us a valuable understanding of the lighthouses of Scotland. What makes this book out of the ordinary are the 50 remarkable full colour pictures of the featured lighthouses. The photos not only familiarize you with the Scottish lighthouses but they create strong emotional impact. The pictures were secured from some of Scotland's most famous photographers, retired lighthouse keepers, and the Scottish Lighthouse Museum. This book is not only an opportunity to learn about Scotland and the country's lighthouses but a trip through an art gallery of lighthouse beauty.
