WHY USE VIDEO ASSISTED EDUCATION?

Video assisted training is not just sitting down and watching television. A video assisted curriculum has three distinct parts. First, there is a facilitator who guides the discussion; second, the video cassette that contains consistent current information; third, handouts for the participants so they can be actively involved in the process. All programs come with a facilitator's manual giving all the information a local person would need to conduct the sessions.

An agency that invests in this type of training receives three major advantages. The biggest advantage is a one time investment will allow the agency to train as many people as they want over a long time.

This means the cost per person drops every time the video curriculum is used to make it very cost effective investment. Some other strong points of the programs are flexibility because you can present the curriculum at one time or divide it. Consistencies, the video cassettes contain the correct information, and you will not have people getting different messages from different people especially information is regulations.

HISTORY OF INNOVATIVE CONSULTING SERVCIES, INC.

Innovative Consulting Services, Inc. (ICS, Inc.) was incorporated in 1981.

The founders of ICS, Inc. had over 35 years of experience in nonprofit human service agencies. The firm's commitment is to bring effective, challenging, innovative and cost effective educational opportunities to human service organizations. Experience has taught the staff one of the most important challenges was to make the opportunities available within the limited budgets of the agencies.

They decided to use a two pronged approach. First, we used live workshops where the people could attend near their home on a per person basis. Since this effort was begun over 10,000 people have attended the per person sessions. Second, we used video assisted curriculums that the agencies could purchase and use at home. Currently over 900 programs are using the video curriculums with on an average in any one day over 1000 people could be attending educational events right at home. Sharma Krauskopf, the current president, encourages people to contact the agency with new ideas for curriculums and to let us know how we can best serve you.
